HP ENVY 5052 Review
On the lower finish of HP’s Envy line of inkjets, the Envy 5055 All-in-One Printer ($129.99) is an entry-level all-in-one (AIO) built with families and offices in mind. Such as our customer multifunction Editors’ Choice, Epson’s Expression Premium XP-7100 Small-in-One, and the Envy 5055 prints well (mainly photos), but unlike the relatively more expensive XP-7100, this HP AIO is a bit brief on features.
Most significantly, it does not have an automated document feeder (ADF) to send multipage documents to the scanner. What the Envy does have more than the XP-7100 and various other rivals is a choice for decreasing operating costs via HP’s Instant Ink program. If you do not do a great deal of multipage copy or scan jobs, the Envy 5055, coupled with Instant Ink, is a practical pick for an office with light needs.
HP ENVY 5052 Lean and Stylish
The Envy 5055 measures five by 17.5 by 14.5 inches (HWD) and evaluates hair under 12 extra pounds. Amongst its many rivals, Canon’s like-priced and similarly featured Pixma TS6320 Wireless All-in-One is among the closest in dimension and girth, primarily because neither machine comes with an ADF.
The tradeoff is that you quit the benefit of allowing your AIO to feed itself multipage scan and copy jobs. At the same time, you do another important thing, such as capture up on the newest pandemic information, or perhaps something more pleasant, such as grabbing a treat.
Other Diver: HP Designjet T2600dr Driver
AIOs with ADFs, such as the Epson XP-7100 or Brother MFC-J995DW INKvestment Storage container All-in-One, are not just a bit larger but also list for a bit more.
Often, however, conserving you and your relative from the moment and tedium of copying much longer documents—placing web pages on the scanner glass, scanning, removing, putting the following web page, and duplicating the process—is a beneficial financial investment. (Incidentally, to obtain an ADF on an HP Envy AIO, you must step up to the Envy Picture 7855 or another Envy 7000-series model.)
Amongst the devices mentioned here up until now, just about the Pixma TS6320 come with a touch-screen control board (however, pretty small ones). However, the Envy 5055’s 2.2-inch screen is monochrome compared with the full-color displays on the XP-7100 and MFC-J995DW. Color displays permit you to, to name a few points, view sneak peeks of documents and pictures before printing them straight from USB thumb owns or SD blink cards.
But after that, neither the Envy 5055 nor the Canon AIO support printing nor scanning to blink memory devices. The Epson han supports Uthe Epson and Brother SB memory, and the Envy 7855 allows you to use both USB own and SD cards.
HP ENVY 5052 Connection
When it comes to connection, the Envy 5055’s standard user interfaces are Wi-Fi, connecting to a solitary PC via USB, and Wireless Direct, HP’s variation of the famous peer-to-peer network procedure Wi-Fi Direct, for accessing the printer from your portable mobile phone or tablet computer without either coming from an area network (LAN).
Other mobile connection options are Apple AirPrint, Mopria, HP ePrint (for printing e-mails and attachments), and HP Wise Application, cross-platform drivers with several processes automation and various other value-added features. (A conversation of Wise Application and the various other packed software is turning up.)
Concerning paper capacity and quantity scores, the Envy 5055’s paper tray stands up to 100 sheets of letter-size paper, ten envelopes, or 20 sheets of premium picture paper. And HP prices the all-in-one’s maximum monthly duty cycle at 1,000 web pages, with a suggested monthly print quantity of up to 400 prints.
That is 1,000 web pages, much less than the XP-7100’s maximum duty cycle; however, its suggested quantity coincides. The MFC-J995DW’s maximum is 4,000 prints, greater than the Envy 5055’s, and its suggested maximum quantity is 1,100 web pages.
The tester should remember that unlike the photo-centric Epson, Canon, and HP AIOs discussed here, the Brother MFC-J995DW is more of an entry-level business-oriented machine with much less of a concentration on photo printing and various other family-oriented applications. On the other hand, Canon does not release quantity scores for the photo-centric Pixma TS6320.
