Canon PIXMA MX870 Scanner Driver – Among several new inkjet MFPs presented by Canon in current months, the silver (with black accentuates) Pixma MX870 is st and straightforward in design.
Big switches on the front control board let you raise its significant functions (copying, faxing, scanning, and memory-card reading). The menus show up on a 2.5-inch color augmenting the traditional four-way rocker navigating switch is a scroll wheel about its side if you prefer to twirl through options; an ‘OK’ button inhabits the center of the rocker nav.
The MX870’s efficiency is more significant than adequate for a small workplace. On both our PC and Mac test systems, plain-text web pages arose for 6.2 web pages each min. Colour web pages balanced 1.8 ppm on the PC and simply under 0.5 ppm on the Mac.
Also, on the Mac, scanning a 7.5-by-9.9-inch picture at 600 dots each inch balanced about 45 secs, while scanning a 4-by-6-inch image at 1200 dpi took about 90 secs. Colour prints on picture paper had abundant, smooth color, and colorext web pages looked black and sharp.
Our beef involved color checks: At the default setups, they were exceedingly dark, looking like they were being fired on a wet day.

The Pixma MX870 has a different ink cartridge for each color. The pigment black (PGI-520BK) costs $22.95 and lasts for 324 web pages or 7.08 cents for each web page.
The cyan, magenta, and yellow CLI-521 cartridges cost $22.95 each and should last for 510 to 535 web pages each, which works on about 4.4 cents for each color on each web page. By Canon’s numeration, the CLI-521 picture black will last for about 725 6x4in pictures.
Canon PIXMA MX870 Scanner Driver – The Pixma MX870 is among the best-balanced inkjet MFPs we’ve evaluated recently. It provides excellent efficiency and great features for the price.
