HP LaserJet Pro MFP M476 Review

HP LaserJet Pro MFP M476 Driver – It offers excellent output quality and a wealth of process features. The M476dw can print, scan, copy, and fax. It can scan e-mail, a network folder, or a USB thumb and print from a USB key. And it offers password-protected printing and a variety of various other security features.

HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M476 Design and Features

With a 3.5-inch colour touch screen, the MFP measures 19.7 by 16.5 by 19.1 inches (HWD) and evaluates 73.3 extra pounds. Its scanner, equipped with a 50-sheet automated document feeder (ADF), can scan both sides of a file at the same time.

The M476dw has a 300-sheet standard paper capacity, split between a 250-sheet tray and a 50-sheet multi-purpose feeder. An optional 250-sheet tray is available for an optimum capacity of 550 sheets. An automated duplexer allows you to print on both sides of a paper.

Its paper capacity is slightly reduced compared to the OKI MC362w (300 sheets standard, with a 530-sheet optional tray) and the Dell Color Multifunction Printer C2665dnf (400 sheets standard, with a 550-sheet optional tray).

The M476dw can connect via USB or Ethernet (consisting of Gigabit Ethernet), plus Wi-Fi, NFC, and HP Wireless Direct (HP’s exclusive equivalent of Wi-Fi Direct, which is a standard used by many printer manufacturers that enables a straight wireless link in between the printer and a mobile phone without undergoing a network).

It is also suitable with HP ePrint and Apple AirPrint. The M476dw has broad wireless abilities compared to the competitors: The Dell C2665dnf uses NFC, but Wi-Fi is a $99 option, and it does not have Wi-Fi Direct, while the OKI MC362w has Wi-Fi but does not have NFC and Wi-Fi Direct.

Output Quality, Operating Costs

HP LaserJet Pro MFP M476 Driver – Output quality for the M476dw is excellent. The MFP’s average text quality readies for a laser, and it should be acceptable for business uses other than those requiring minimal font styles.

Video quality suffices for PowerPoint handouts and introductory advertising leaflets as well. Shades are typically bright and well-filled. There were minor problems in my tests, such as dithering (graininess) and discoloured histories, but no significant problems.

With pictures, colour is typically intense, with great information in dark locations. A monochrome picture tester published revealed some tinting, and some prints showed considerable dithering (graininess and populate patterns).

Also, posterization (unexpected shifts in colour or shading where they should be progressive) was evident in a pair of test pictures. Still, pictures suffice for use in company e-newsletters and so forth.

The M476dw’s operating costs, based on HP’s price and yield information, come to 2.5 cents for each monochrome web page and 16.3 cents for each colour web page. The colour number is high for a printer in this price range.

However, it improves on the OKI MC362w’s 2.8 cents for each monochrome web page; it is more significant than the latter’s 13.9 cents for each colour web page. If you print a great deal of colour, the distinction can accumulate. The Dell C2665dnf has lower costs compared to the M476dw for both monochrome (2.3 cents each web page) and colour (12.8 cents each web page) printing.

Two various other variants on the M476dw are available. The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M476nw ($529.99) does not have the automated duplexer, while the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M476dn ($629.99) does not have NFC, Wi-Fi, and HP wireless direct abilities.

The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M476dw provides a great blend of MFP and process features, wired and wireless connection choices, and output quality, especially for video.

This makes it an excellent choice for a small workplace or a workgroup looking for a shade laser MFP with the ability to print from mobile devices and send out checked documents to several locations.

HP LaserJet Pro MFP M476 Driver – The LaserJet Pro MFP M476dw offers better output quality and wireless link choices than the OKI MC362w. But the OKI remains our Editors’ Choice thanks to its speed, paper capacity, price, and colour costs, and overall, it is the better buy.
