Samsung CLX-3175 Driver – The Samsung CLX-3175 is another of Samsung’s “tiniest ‘xyz’s in the world”. This time, it is a wireless, colour, laser multifunction printer. We prefer to think dimension isn’t that important, but a small account on the desktop computer can be a benefit.

Samsung CLX-3175 Driver – This is another all-black machine, resting quite high off the work desk, as its colour laser engine is mounted up and down within the situation. On top is a broad, 15-sheet Automated Document Feeder (ADF), set right into the top of the flatbed scanner cover.

Before the ADF is a properly designed control board, consisting of a four-way jog-dial, used to negotiate the device’s menu system, which displays on a 2-line, 16-personality LCD. There is a number pad to the right of the jog-dial, as this machine has fax centres integrated with it, and there are 2 extra switches for direct printing from USB (you can also scan to a USB own) and ID Copy, which is a fast way to take a copy of a two-sided ID card.

This is among the inexpensive colour laser multifunction devices with wireless links. It also consists of wired Ethernet and USB 2.0 as options. Near the bottom of the front panel is a 150-sheet paper tray, but there is no multi-purpose feed for envelopes or unique media.

Draw down the front cover, and you have access to the 4 printer toner cartridges, which are aligned inside one over the other. Unlike many current colour laser designs, the drum unit is separate from these cartridges. It has a different life expectancy, as does the printer toner waste container, which also needs changing regularly.

With the wireless configuration instructions in its digital User Guide, Samsung is doing itself no favours. They’re written more for a system manager than for a home or small company client and involve IP addresses, MAC addresses, etc. None of this is needed, as the printer comes with an integrated Wizard to earn itself known to a wireless router. You do not need to connect a network or USB cable television – do the following.

Samsung CLX-3175 Driver – Before you install the software, push the Menu switch on the control board and select ‘4.Network, Wireless, WLAN Setting and Wizard’. The printer looks for wireless networks when one’s been chosen, heaven wireless light illuminates, and you can run the set up from the software CD, and choose options for networking. It’s all undergone with hardly any hassle. Shame there is no mention of this wizard in the paperwork.

The combined USB and PictBridge port didn’t show to be quite as helpful as we expected. While you can undoubtedly connect USB owns and PictBridge video cams to the outlet, we just had a 50:50 success rate. One dependable and regularly used 256MB USB own produced an interior mistake on the Samsung machine, so it maintained reusing through its warming cycle.

The HP video cam, undoubtedly an older model but one we regularly use for PictBridge tests, connected OK, but was after that avoided from showing picture sneak peeks, so we could not select photos to print. A Ricoh video cam of the same classic had no problem, nor did a 2nd USB own we replaced.

A five-page colour text and video print gave a rate of 3.37ppm, which is also shut enough to the claim to be applauded.

Print quality from the CLX-3175FW differs from document to document. Black text is typically well recreated, but colour videos are excessively bright. It may be OK for obstructing colours and also for some publicity-related photos. Still, there is an enrollment problem, with apparent haloes about black personalities published over coloured histories. Photo prints appear too bright, and there is no chance of damping down the vividness through the printer drivers.

Black text duplicates looked slim, and obstructs of colour became irregular; however, this can be partly made up for by changing the darkness of the copy.

As well as the printer toner cartridges, great for 1,000 web pages in colour and 1,500 in black, you will need to buy an imaging unit every 6,000 colour web pages and a waste printer toner container every 10,000. Include all these lots up, and you obtain a black web page print number of 3.45p and a colour among 13.6p, consisting of 0.7p for paper, in each situation. Both these numbers are high, with the colour print cost well over most non-Samsung laser MFPs.

Samsung CLX-3175 Driver – It is disappointing to discover the printer comes with ‘starter’ cartridges containing 1,000 web pages of black and 700 of each colour, a 3rd less than the standard components.
