Epson GT-2500 Driver – The Epson GT-2500, a 48-bit color flatbed scanner, is tailored toward small companies that want to scan documents easily. With its automated document feeder (ADF) and high-resolution abilities, it provides. Still, its premium features may be excessive for some business experts that intend to digitize ordinary paper documents.

Epson GT-2500 Review
Epson GT-2500 Driver – To use the GT-2500, you put as many as 50 web pages in the top-fed document feeder, and introduce the Epson Scan software on your Mac (there is also an eco-friendly Begin switch on the scanner that will introduce Epson Scan for you), set your choices in the application, and click the software’s Scan switch.
The scanner sucks in the web pages one at a time and spits them from the all-time low of the unit, listed below the input tray. When the scanning is finished, a dialog appears on your Mac asking you to modify or conserve the web pages.
At the same time, you can raise the cover and scan precisely the glass surface. The scanner has an extra-long 8.5-by-14-inch scanning location to accommodate legal-size documents. This level bed can be a reward and certainly makes the scanner more versatile if you want to scan publication articles, publications, or fragile documents that you do not want to go through the automated document feeder.
Epson GT-2500 Driver – A higher-end variation of this scanner, the GT-2500 Plus for $900, consists of Adobe Acrobat 7 Standard ($299 worth) and an integrated network card that allows computer systems on your LAN to use the scanner—useful in a small workplace.
Because Mac OS X facilitates PDF development through the Print dialog, Acrobat’s worth isn’t as great for Mac users as it’s for Windows users. Acrobat does permit the initiation of PDF-based team review of documents and various other nice PDF-centric features. Still, if a PDF-based process and networking abilities are trivial to you, the standard GT-2500 will fit your needs quite well.
The scanner is relatively large for a desktop computer device at 23 extra pounds and 18-by-15.5-by-8 inches—but that fits the lawful-sized level bed. If space goes to costs, you might consider the Fujitsu ScanSnap ( ), which has an impact smaller than an 8.5-by-11-inch notepad.
Your documents do not need to remain in perfect problem to scan properly using the GT-2500’s ADF. In truth, many of mine were simply snippets or dinged along the sides.
The GT-2500’s image quality is outstanding. The tester checked documents in black-and-white and grayscale, and both looked very clear on screen, particularly when the tester used Epson Scan’s Text Improvement feature.

Epson GT-2500 Driver – The prints of those checks looked very similar to the originals. The tester also checked a pile of 4-by-6-inch pictures using the ADF, and the resulting TIFFs had excellent information. The ADF checks at up to 600 x 600 dpi; flatbed resolution is 1,200 x 1,200 dpi, while maximum interpolated resolution is 9,600 x 9,600 dpi.
The ADF eliminates some of the tedium of scanning, but the process is still very slow. Epson says that the ADF checks at 11 web pages each min in color and 27 web pages each min in black and white, and my testing with black-and-white checks using a 1.42GHz G4 Mac small measured up to the speed claim.
However, my real-world color scanning rate varied: Scanning took anywhere from 3 to 5 web pages each min, depending upon whether the tester used the text improvement feature. Grayscale scanning prices had to do with nine web pages each min.
After you scan your documents, you must modify and conserve the pages—the conservation treatment alone takes about a min. If you want to scan both sides of a web page, checks will take two times as long as the scanner feeds the paper back through the ADF.
The slowness probably will not trouble you when you need to scan a few web pages occasionally, but if you are scanning the components of your file cupboards, anticipate setting apart a significant amount of time to complete the job.
The GT-2500’s various other significant drawback is the software. It allows you to specify your own presets, but you need to use its numbering scheme rather than having the ability to name the presets on your own.
It is simply inappropriate that one can’t specify presets with exact names. And the default view of the software (Workplace Setting) assumes that users immediately know the correct dpi setting to select and what a descreening filter is or when to use one.
Epson GT-2500 Driver – These terms are specified in the Help files and User Guide, and there’s a useful recommendation that recommends to users which color and dpi setups to use for various kinds of checks. However, the software itself should provide better assistance.
