Epson L1300 Review
Epson and printer body colours are changed to black.
The Epson L1300 is presented to complement the Epson L Series family in the A3 inkjet printer class with the Epson L1800 to meet the printing needs of various sizes with excellent quality for various office needs, architects, and designers. However, it does not rule out the possibility that home users can also use it.
The Epson L1300 has the ability to print, ranging in size from 4R (10.2×15.2 cm) to A3+ (32.9×48.3 cm), with quite capable print quality. Epson claims that this A3 printer is capable of printing posters, floor plans, charts, and diagrams or large tables on A3 paper size and printing on smaller paper sizes.
This printer weighing 12.2 kg, has physical dimensions of 705 x 322 x 215mm. The body design of the printer is very similar to the Epson Stylus Office T1100, and it looks like it takes up quite a lot of space on the desk for a printer that only works for this print. But it’s still quite understandable because this is an A3 inkjet printer.
The Epson L1300 can print up to a resolution of 5760 x 1440 dpi thanks to the Variable-Sized Droplet (VSDT) printing technology embedded in the Epson Micro Piezo print head technology. This method is used to get very smooth image gradations, both for documents, black and white and colour photos.
At the printer launch event at the end of last month, Epson also immediately showed off the greatness of the Epson L1300 printer in front of the media crew to break records in printing documents. Initially, Epson targeted the L1300 to be able to print up to 16,000 sheets. And it turns out that when exhibited, the L1300 continues to print up to 17,300 more sheets.
This process is still ongoing even though the event has been completed. This printing process has been going on for a week and has only used two sets of original Epson ink tanks. This advantage will emphasize that the Epson L1300 printer can work optimally non-stop without obstacles and still produces excellent quality. For this achievement, finally, the Epson L1300 managed to set a record as the “A3 Inkjet Printer with the Most Prints”.
The Epson L1300 uses a standard 4-colour ink system: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. However, in the Epson infusion or CISS system, there are 5 colour ink tanks. Two ink tanks are used to hold black ink, and the rest are cyan, magenta, and yellow, respectively.
Epson claims that using this black 2 ink tank system will make it easier to replace or refill when one of them runs out. The first black ink is used to print text-based documents while the other ink is combined in cyan, magenta and yellow, specifically for printing colour documents to photos.
The Epson L1300 is quite fast when printing monochrome documents. Capable of printing monochrome files at speeds up to 30 ppm and 17 ppm for colour documents with A4 paper media (draft mode). Meanwhile, to print colour photos measuring 10x15cm / 4x6inch/4R, this printer takes about 31 seconds per sheet (draft mode) and about 83 seconds for default or standard photo quality.
To print photos on A3 paper media, of course, will take more time, depending on the colour and print quality that can be adjusted with the A3 printer’s built-in software. The electricity consumption is only about 30 watts during the printing process and 1.6 watts in sleep mode.
With a price tag of almost six million rupiahs, this printer offers the flexibility and convenience of printing A4-sized photos up to A3+-sized documents. This capability makes it suitable for use by small and medium businesses in diverse printing and professionals and offices who often require printing on A3 paper media. This series is intended for professional use but does not rule out the possibility that it can also be used to handle personal or home needs.
